Killer Waves of the Bahamas!

Thats right, my family and I went on a Cruise to the Bahamas!  There is one thing I would like to talk about in this post, and that is:  THE KILLER WAVES!  One stop on the cruise was in Nassau.  My family grabbed the first scooters we could find and headed around the island and to the beach!  We walked through the Atlantis hotel to get to the beach.  Before we got there, a guy inside of the hotel who was completely wet pointed and said, the beach is that way and it is AWESOME!  When we got to the beach, there were people braving the SCARIEST waves I have ever seen.  As us gals were putting our towels down to sunbathe, the men ran straight into the water.  Within the first 5 minutes, we saw ladies getting hammered by waves and witnessed a man rescue one lady who must have gotten hit hard by the wave, cuz the top of her swimsuit ....became her bottoms...  The waves were so close to the beach and they were extremely high.  Brian claims that while riding one particular wave, he looked down and saw only sand.  Scary!  He came out of that with sand alllll over in his hair and back.  Here are a couple pictures of that particular day at the Beach.

Brian is a monkey :)

Jennifer is cute

 Party on the scooters
...Oh the sand in the hair...
This would be Samantha running quickly from the wave which may just kill her
Yes, that is Brian riding that wave...what you do not realize is how shallow it is right under that wave...
 Baywatch?
If you look close enough, that is a foot...
There is a head in this photo

It was a great and scary day.  Hopefully I will update about the rest of the trip sometime soon

Do you feel sorry for us?

Oh my oh my..  Both Brian and I are going to have quite the week this week. We are going to be jamming every school project, paper, and test into this week that is due for the rest of this month!  There will be many papers due for both of us, and a test that I have to figure out how to fit in before Friday. Not to mention, it is SO cold here!
Why are we doing this you ask?  Well we are going back to our honeymoon spot, thats why!  We are going to the Bahamas on a cruise with a ton of my family!  My brothers Aaron, Bryan, Dennis and Mark are going to be on the cruise ship with their lovely wives (Kim, Donna, Erica, and Samantha), then my sister Jennifer and I will have our wonderful husbands with us (Ben and Brian).  My parents will be coming along for the party, as well as about 10 cousins and their wives/husbands.  Seriously, Its going to be a PARTY! After the cruise, we are so lucky to be able to go to Brian's sister's house and spend thanksgiving with her!  We are excited to see Katie, Nathan and their two cute girls, Kayla and Adella.

...But I dont know if we can make it till Saturday...

I am married to a future Nurse!

So, After Brian's hard work in school for the last couple of semesters, especially this semester, he applied to the Nursing Program at BYU and got in for Winter 2011!  I am so happy for him!  He is going to do great.  He had to turn in his grades for this semester so far, and he had a 4.0 GPA!  His last Anatomy test was so hard and the class average was a 75%, but he got a 100%!  He will do well in in the Nursing Program.  :)  I love him and am excited for the next 3 years we have in Provo until Brian is finished!

Party On!  (This is the day he and I met)

Lovin' Life...Especially Hide-a-beds

How can life be so amazing, unexpected, funny, lively, and busy all the time?  Oh by marrying Brian, of course!  Our lives have been going non stop since we got off our honeymoon!  School is kicking our trash as we are trying to play catch up on school as well as move forward in all our classes so we can be ready to go on our family cruise on the 14th of November!  I am taking 17 credits, Brian is taking 14.  We both have good Jobs we work at part time, and Our home is absolutely amazing!  Brian is applying for the Nursing program this semester and let me tell ya, for this semester's grades, he has a 4.0 so far!  He just told me that he got a 100% on his anatomy test!
School is school of course, but the rest of our lives are pretty fun!  We got to go up to my Aunt Sharon's tonight and just mess around with so many Christensen cousins and talk of missions and New York.  We have friends to go to Football Games with (where the cougars actually win, but just barely to Wyoming), and we have opportunities to visit the temple!!
One question:  How do you get family to visit you in Provo Utah?  Get a hide a bed!  We have had so much family visit us in our little Provo apartment.  The first day we moved in, Emily (Brian's sister) stayed with us!  The next day Brian's mom and Brother came for education week and were able to stay with us!  That was soo fun to have them.   Mark then stayed with us about a week or two later for a week while he was visiting Samantha, Dustin (Mark's friend) stayed over one night that Mark was here too!
For Mark's wedding this month, we had my Mom and Mark stay here one night, then my awesome sister Jennifer, Ben and their kids!  It was soooo fun!  I seriously love having a big family, and it really helps to have a hide-a-bed with a huge living room.

Life is so great, and we are blessed for an awesome family, good friends, a nice home...and a wonderful hide-a-bed for people to come crash anytime.  :)

My Husband and Eating habits of the Summer

Brian is my hero.  He can eat more than any person I know.
This picture is from one morning this summer after Brian got finished working the night shift.  I am pretty sure this was the morning that he didn't come home until 9 a.m.  I started to get really scared  because he had started working at 5 p.m. the day before and he had never been gone that long.  When he got home, Emily (his sister) and I were just pulling out waffles from the waffle maker and so of course we gave him that to snack on before his huge bowl of cereal.  That big, red bowl is what we call "The Papa Bowl"--we have two more (mama and baby) bowls.  The papa bowl is not for the faint of heart...you've gotta be a hard workin' man for that much cereal.
Onto the next set of pictures.  For my birthday, Brian was soo sweet to take me out to PF Changs.  We had salad wraps and noodles with shrimp!! It was soo good.  We were stuffed after the meal.  We walked around for about a half hour before going to get ice cream at Fanci Freeze in Boise.  I got a 10 oz. milkshake and Brian got a 44 oz. Boston Cream Pie shake.  If you dont know what the Boston cream pie shake is, it is a sunday on top of your milk shake.

Yes, he had to have two cups because it is predicted that those who eat all the ice cream will spew in the second cup after consumption

....So that wasn't true...The second cup was because  the first cup has a tendency to flow over and he needed the second one so it wouldnt get all over the place. At this point, it was a matter of pride to finish the Milkshake.  I didnt put in a lot of the pictures of him almost throwing up, but let me tell ya, I have a ton of proof.
Yes!  He finished, and in under 20 minutes.  We finished our shakes at the same time.  It was a great day!  I loved going out with him for my first birthday ive ever had with him.  :) He is wonderful.

So you had a bad day?

Events of Yesterday...

Brian:
9 A.M. - Went to martial arts where he bent his toe nail back so much is toe bled.  poor guy
10 A.M. - In the process of getting ready for the day at the RB, he realized he forgot a towel and some essential clothing pieces.
10:15 -Rushed home to get proper clothing, in the process of missing his anatomy open lab.
11:00 - Went to work/Class
5:00- Finished work/class went to Open lab for Anatomy
For the next little while, all seemed to go okay, then...
6:30 - Brian was so hungry and waiting for his wife to get out of the testing center, forgetting everything but how hungry he was.  His wife finally comes out of the testing center, on the verge of tears because of her grade.
6:32 - Wife can't find her bike in the bike rack she put it in...
7:30 - He finally gets home with wife, wife holding back tears
7:45 - Realized he missed a quiz during the time wife was looking for her bike
8:00 - Wife not in the mood to cook

Michelle:
All was well at first--
12:00 - Went to her childhood class and was informed that everyone who had taken the test (which i had been studying for all this week) in the testing center the last 4 days have either gotten C's or D's.. The test was apparently hard
1:00 - Went to work/Studied for the big exam which was the death of everyone in her class
2:00 - Work got abnormally busy...which meant not as much studying as I would have liked
5:00 - get into the testing center to take the test of death
6:30 - Walked out from the testing center thinking about killing my professor
6:32 - Tried to find my bike, but it was not found
6:40 - Called BYU police to report a stolen bike
6:45 - sent Brian home to get the car because my bike wasnt taking me home
7:15 - Sat in the back of a cop car and filed a missing bike report (was then informed that about once a week a bike gets stolen out of the lot i parked and locked my bike in)
7:30 - Finally home...Bikeless
8:00 - Sad and on the couch/not in the mood to cook

Serving others and making them feel better, even when you don't have time:
Oh how my whole day can change when Brian, who has had an equally bad day, can just hug me and say it will all be alright.  He was stressed out completely with all of the homework and tests he has to prepare for, but still, on a school night in the middle of the week, he puts aside his homework, tests, obviously even a quiz, and took me out to eat.  He used his birthday gift card to Chili's on a night that was rough for me...and for him i guess.. but more for me.  We could have just stayed home, but he knew leaving the house and thinking about other things would make me feel better.

Im so lucky to have such a nice husband to take me out and then just watch a movie the rest of the night.  He hugged me a lot and told me it wasn't my fault that the bike was gone.  He also threatened to beat up anyone who is on a bike that remotely looks close to mine.  How sweet!  :)

But really...  Brian made me feel so much better.  I know I am important to him when he can push aside his homework and do anything to make me feel better.  I love him a lot and am thankful he can deal with my problems.  He is getting extremely good at it!  A crappy morning and afternoon was changed for both of us simply by being in each other's company without thinking of the stress of school or anything else.  He rarely ever reads the blog, but I really thought I should write down how good he is to me.  I love Brian so much and feel blessed that he is my husband.

Brian is 23!

Oh how I love birthdays!  My husband turned 23 this week!  Dont you worry, even though we both had school at eight in the morning, I beat him home at 5 and started preparing a wonderful meal for us!  I had to call my mom to figure out what I could make that would be most pleasing and delicious.  She gave me the idea to make fried chicken, gravy, mashed potatoes, and a salad!  So that is what I did!  Brian was supposed to get out of his class at six, and I thought I was going to have to pick him up from school, but he didn't have his phone that day and also wanted to check to see if his bike was ready to take home.  Luckily at 6:15, he strolled into the house with his new bike! (birthday present #1)  I had the salad ready to go, was in the process of making the chicken and started the potatoes!  The meal turned out great.  He loved every bite of it!  My favorite part was the gravy.  It was GOOOOD!  I haven't had gravy with potatoes in a really long time.  After dinner, I was soo excited for him to open his gifts that I practically told him what they were while he was in the process of opening them!
I made an error in my shopping judgement by getting him some DANG hideous pants..those are on their way back to the mall, no worries.  He likes his other stuff I got him though!  ... Or he pretends he does...  :)
I love him and am so happy i married him :)  Oh my husband is so old!
This picture was taken in Idaho.  I think its cute!
